It's worth knowing :-

  • All walks are led by experienced leaders.
  • We have many members in Ilkley and lift sharing is popular.
  • Many of our walks start and finish in Ilkley ( typically at the Old Bridge)
  • Walkers can move between the 5 LWR groups as often as they wish.
  • As our walks all take place during the week, the majority of our members are retired and semi-retired.
  • Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds with many varied interests. The chances are likely that you will find a kindred spirit.
  • Members can walk with any of the UK's 500 groups at no extra cost.
  • We're a sociable group with coach trips,BBQ's,Christmas events,Lunches etc throughout the year.

Potential members can walk upto 3 times, without charge, to help decide if LWR is for them.

The Ramblers also work actively to protect our footpaths. We work closely with local authorities, farmers and other walking groups on clearing paths, repairing stiles, erecting gates etc. Recent local projects have been in Nesfield,Burley and Ben Rhydding.
